Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for public infrastructure projects
- Operate heavy machinery safely (backhoes, forklifts, dump trucks) with proper certifications
- Assist in road maintenance, sidewalk repairs, and utility line installations
- Maintain job site safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and basic repairs
- Document daily progress and material usage via digital reporting systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams on project specifications
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification required
- Minimum 1 year experience in civil construction or public works
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks in varied weather
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and survey equipment
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Spanish bilingual preferred for community engagement
- High school diploma or equivalent required
