Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including trucks, loaders, and street sweepers
- Respond to weather emergencies (snow removal, flood control)
- Conduct daily inspections of assigned infrastructure zones
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for large-scale projects
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and municipal regulations
- Document work activities and submit progress reports
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of construction/public works experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather
- Basic mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Fluency in English required; Spanish proficiency a plus
