Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate light machinery including mowers, trimmers, and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Assist in park beautification projects including landscaping, litter removal, and facility upkeep
- Respond to weather-related emergencies (e.g., storm debris cleanup, flooding mitigation)
- Complete daily work logs and follow proper safety protocols at all times
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement initiatives
- Participate in community events promoting public works awareness
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or maintenance field
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and light equipment operation
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety standards
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
