Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate light/heavy equipment including dump trucks, backhoes, and street sweepers
- Assist in park maintenance, landscaping, and facility upkeep projects
- Respond to emergency weather events (floods, ice storms) for critical infrastructure repairs
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain equipment cleanliness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for coordinated project execution
- Document work activities and submit daily progress reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License (Class A preferred)
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or municipal maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment operation skills
- Strong communication skills and commitment to public service values
