Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for road repair, drainage maintenance, and park infrastructure projects
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, dump trucks, and street sweepers safely
- Assist in stormwater management and flood control operations during inclement weather
- Conduct routine inspections of public facilities and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on city beautification and recycling programs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Participate in emergency response operations during natural disasters
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works, construction, or related field
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety
- Must pass background check and drug screening
