Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including digging, lifting, and moving construction materials
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, power saws) under supervision
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk maintenance, and drainage system upkeep
- Ensure all work adheres to OSHA safety standards and city protocols
- Participate in snow removal and emergency weather response operations
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
- Report equipment malfunctions and safety hazards promptly
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction methods
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical examination
- No prior felony convictions
- Previous public works or construction experience preferred
