Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers, and asphalt pavers under supervisor guidance
- Perform manual labor including excavation, paving, concrete work, and debris removal
- Conduct routine maintenance of public spaces including parks, sidewalks, and roadways
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain a hazard-free work zone
- Assist skilled tradespeople with installation and repair of utilities and drainage systems
- Document daily work activities and material usage in digital logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid New York State Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Minimum 2 years construction or public works experience
- Certification in OSHA 10-hour construction safety training
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment operation
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
