Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Operate light equipment (backhoes, jackhammers, asphalt cutters) with proper safety protocols
- Assist in road maintenance, pothole repairs, and traffic control operations
- Maintain parks, trails, and public facilities through landscaping and cleanup duties
- Conduct utility inspections and support emergency response crews
- Adhere to OSHA standards and maintain organized job sites
- Document daily activities and material usage in field reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years construction/public works experience
- Valid Class C driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to safety procedures
- Ability to pass background check and pre-employment physical
- Preferred: CDL endorsement or flagging certification
