Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, loaders, and dump trucks for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and asphalt paving operations
- Maintain and repair city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and municipal regulations
- Assist in emergency response operations during weather-related incidents
- Conduct routine inspections of public works equipment and facilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project planning and execution
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction or public works
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification mandatory
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and heavy equipment operation
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
