Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, graders) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, asphalt patching, and sidewalk repairs
- Assist in seasonal snow removal operations and street maintenance duties
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance tasks
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and proper waste disposal procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public works initiatives
- Document daily operations and material usage in compliance with city regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or public works
- Valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License with clean record
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification preferred
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (training provided for qualified candidates)
- Physical stamina to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
