Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor in construction, maintenance, and repair of public infrastructure
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, and power tools) safely and efficiently
- Excavate trenches, backfill sites, and prepare work areas for construction
- Assist skilled tradespeople with installation of pipes, signs, and traffic control devices
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards at all job sites
- Participate in emergency response during natural disasters or public emergencies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification preferred
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
