Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and paving operations
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, compactors) under supervision
- Inspect and maintain public works facilities, roads, and drainage systems
- Adhere to strict OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Assist skilled tradespersons with infrastructure repair and maintenance
- Document work progress and maintain equipment logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Georgia driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety procedures
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Experience with public works or construction preferred
- Ability to obtain required certifications within 30 days
