Responsibilities
- Perform general labor duties on public works projects, including road repair, sidewalk installation, and utility maintenance.
- Operate and maintain basic heavy equipment and machinery, including jackhammers, rollers, and excavators under supervision.
- Assist with traffic control and flagging to ensure the safety of workers and the public on job sites.
- Load and unload materials such as asphalt, gravel, and construction supplies using hand tools and forklifts.
- Perform excavation and trenching for sewer, water, and gas line installations.
- Clean and prepare job sites by removing debris, grading dirt, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and standing on concrete.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety procedures is a plus.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are mandatory.
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
