Responsibilities
- Operate hand tools (shovels, picks, brooms) and light machinery (compactors, sweepers) for construction/maintenance projects
- Perform physical tasks including digging, lifting (up to 50 lbs), material handling, and debris removal
- Assist in road repairs, sidewalk installations, park maintenance, and drainage system upkeep
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times
- Collaborate with crew members to complete daily project goals efficiently
- Report infrastructure hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors immediately
- Maintain clean, organized work sites following municipal regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical fitness assessment
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic understanding of construction safety principles
- Reliable transportation to job sites across Omaha
- Ability to stand/walk 8+ hours daily with frequent bending/stooping
- Pass background check and drug screening
