Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, paving, and infrastructure repairs
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks, graders) under proper supervision
- Assist in road maintenance, sidewalk construction, and park development projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Conduct routine inspections and report maintenance needs to supervisors
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines
- Maintain accurate work records and complete required documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum 2 years of construction/public works experience
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and heavy equipment
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
