Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and public parks
- Operate light machinery including sweepers, mowers, and hand tools
- Assist in storm drain cleaning and flood prevention initiatives
- Support waste collection and recycling programs citywide
- Respond to emergency weather-related maintenance tasks
- Document work activities and submit required reports
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on special projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Experience with landscaping, construction, or maintenance preferred
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols for equipment operation
- Strong work ethic and punctuality essential
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Pass background check and drug screening
