Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate light equipment including dump trucks, loaders, and mowing machinery
- Assist in stormwater management and flood control initiatives
- Support park maintenance and recreational facility upkeep
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather events
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA standards
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Experience operating hand/power tools and light machinery preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction safety standards
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and background check
