Responsibilities
- Execute heavy civil construction projects including road maintenance, drainage system repairs, and utility installations
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, rollers) with precision and safety compliance
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, backfilling, and material handling
- Adhere to OSHA standards and company safety protocols in all operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines and quality standards
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
- Document daily work activities and material usage for reporting accuracy
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience (CDL Class A/B preferred)
- Valid Louisiana Driver's License with clean driving record
- OSHA 10/30 certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Knowledge of local construction codes and permitting requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent required
