Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, dump trucks)
- Perform road repairs, sidewalk installations, and drainage system maintenance
- Execute snow removal operations during winter emergencies
- Assist in park beautification and green space management
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety protocols and equipment handling procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years operating heavy machinery in public works/construction
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment troubleshooting
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Clean background check and drug-free workplace compliance
- High school diploma or equivalent required
