Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling for municipal projects
- Operate light equipment (e.g., jackhammers, saws, compressors) under supervision
- Maintain and repair sidewalks, streets, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Assist in traffic control and safety protocol implementation during construction zones
- Transport materials and equipment using trucks and trailers
- Document daily work activities and report maintenance needs
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and city regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment operation skills
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Strong work ethic and punctuality essential
- Previous construction/municipal labor experience preferred
