Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling for public infrastructure projects
- Operate light equipment (e.g., jackhammers, saws, compactors) under supervision
- Assist in maintaining roads, sidewalks, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Follow strict safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines
- Report maintenance issues and participate in preventive upkeep activities
- Support emergency response operations during weather events or disasters
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety standards
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and overtime
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Preferred: 1+ years of construction or public works experience
- Preferred: OSHA 10-hour construction certification
