Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy municipal equipment including street sweepers, pothole patchers, and snowplows.
- Perform general maintenance and repair on City streets, sidewalks, and public infrastructure.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations to ensure public safety during severe weather events.
- Load and unload construction materials and perform site preparation duties as directed by supervisors.
- Monitor work areas for safety hazards and adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and OSHA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding daily schedules and project requirements.
- Keep work vehicles and equipment clean and report mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License required; Class A or B preferred.
- Ability to pass a standard government background check and drug screening.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus but not required.
- Reliable transportation to and from work sites.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends during peak seasons.
