Responsibilities
- Operate heavy-duty garbage trucks and sanitation equipment in a safe and efficient manner on assigned routes.
- Collect and transport residential, commercial, and recyclable waste in accordance with city schedules.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure operational safety.
- Ensure proper disposal of waste and maintain the cleanliness of work areas and disposal sites.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and the public regarding service and issues.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class C Ohio Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation.
- Strong commitment to public service, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
