Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided heavy machinery (excavators, graders, dump trucks) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, paving, and drainage system maintenance
- Assist in traffic control setup and work zone safety protocols
- Maintain and organize assigned equipment/tools daily
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather events
- Complete accurate daily work logs and progress reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale municipal projects
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour Construction certification preferred
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (experience with CAT machinery a plus)
- Physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather
- Basic knowledge of construction safety standards
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- 1+ years of public works or construction experience preferred
