Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, dump trucks)
- Perform road maintenance, construction, and repair projects
- Ensure OSHA compliance and site safety protocols
- Assist in stormwater management and drainage systems
- Participate in infrastructure rehabilitation initiatives
- Maintain accurate equipment logs and project documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public works projects
Qualifications
- Valid California Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment maintenance knowledge
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pass background check and physical fitness assessment
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
