Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided machinery (excavators, graders, dump trucks) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Maintain construction sites per OSHA standards using provided safety equipment
- Assist in road maintenance, drainage systems, and public facility repairs
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project timelines and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Alaska driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment operation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Experience in construction, landscaping, or public works preferred
