Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided equipment (shovels, jackhammers, graders, etc.) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including digging, paving, and repairing roads/sidewalks
- Assist in construction/maintenance of parks, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Follow strict safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Collaborate with crew members to complete projects efficiently
- Report equipment malfunctions and safety hazards to supervisors
- Participate in emergency response during weather-related events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in extreme conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and techniques preferred
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow instructions
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
