Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment and machinery (provided by the company) to perform general labor tasks such as grading, paving, and excavation.
- Maintain and clean public roads, sidewalks, and right-of-ways, including pothole repair and debris removal.
- Assist in traffic control and flagging operations to ensure the safety of workers and the public.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation) and OSHA safety regulations and guidelines at all times.
- Perform basic maintenance and inspection of equipment and tools before and after use.
- Communicate effectively with crew leads and engineers to understand project requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or general labor is a plus but not required.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment is a plus; however, training will be provided if you have the aptitude for it.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Physically fit and capable of performing heavy manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as project demands dictate.
