Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, dump trucks) for construction and maintenance projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and asphalt/concrete installation
- Conduct routine inspections and repairs of public infrastructure (roads, sewers, sidewalks)
- Adhere to strict OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex municipal projects
- Maintain accurate project documentation and equipment logs
Qualifications
- Valid NYS Class B CDL license with airbrake endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-hour Construction certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and surveying principles
- High school diploma or equivalent required
