Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy construction equipment, including backhoes, rollers, and dump trucks.
- Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, grading, and paving roadways.
- Assist in snow removal, ice control, and storm response operations during winter months.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and supplies from delivery vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site while adhering to OSHA and DOT safety regulations.
- Inspect public infrastructure for damage or defects and report findings to supervisors.
- Clean drainage ditches and catch basins to prevent flooding.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous labor, including lifting 50+ lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or landscaping is preferred but not required for entry-level candidates.
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and heavy machinery operation is a plus.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
