Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including excavation, grading, and paving operations
- Operate specialized equipment (backhoes, compactors, jackhammers) with precision
- Execute storm drain maintenance and flood control infrastructure projects
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Collaborate with civil engineers and construction teams on complex urban development
- Conduct routine inspections of public works assets
- Assist in emergency response during natural disasters
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean record
- Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-hour Construction certification required
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Knowledge of CA Title 24 safety regulations
- Experience with asphalt/concrete materials handling
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Union membership preferred (LIUNA or Laborers' Local)
