Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including street sweeping, pothole repair, and trash collection.
- Maintain and clean public parks, sidewalks, and right-of-ways.
- Operate light to medium heavy equipment, such as dump trucks, loaders, and sweepers.
- Assist with snow and ice removal during winter months.
- Ensure strict adherence to all traffic control laws and safety regulations.
- Perform routine inspections of public infrastructure and report maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with a diverse team to complete projects efficiently.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License (Class C) required.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Must pass a post-offer physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
