Responsibilities
- Machinery Operation: Safely operate and maintain heavy construction equipment, including jackhammers, rollers, and loaders.
- Site Preparation: Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, grading, and preparing surfaces for paving.
- Clean-Up & Maintenance: Remove debris, snow, and waste from public roads, parks, and job sites to ensure cleanliness.
- Traffic Management: Set up and monitor traffic control devices, including cones, barriers, and signs, to ensure the safety of workers and the public.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and organize construction materials and tools at the job site.
- Repairs: Assist in basic infrastructure repairs and utility work under the supervision of skilled tradespeople.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
- License: Valid New York State Driver’s License (Class B preferred) is required.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform physical labor in all weather conditions.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is a plus but not mandatory.
- Safety Awareness: Must adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines.
- Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.
