Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including digging, shoveling, lifting materials, and operating hand/power tools
- Assist in road maintenance, sewer repairs, park upkeep, and storm drain cleaning
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, asphalt cutters) after paid training
- Maintain job site cleanliness and adhere to strict safety protocols
- Support emergency response during weather-related incidents (snow removal, flooding)
- Collaborate with skilled tradespeople to complete public works projects
- Complete daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
Qualifications
- No prior experience or formal education required – training provided
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Valid Indiana driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and following instructions
- Basic literacy for completing daily work logs and safety forms
- Reliable transportation to various work sites across Marion County
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and background check
