Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor in construction, maintenance, and repair of public infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., excavators, loaders) and power tools safely and efficiently
- Assist in traffic control and site setup for public works projects
- Conduct routine inspections and report maintenance needs to supervisors
- Adhere to all OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or related field
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction equipment
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends for emergencies
