Responsibilities
- Assist in construction, maintenance, and repair of city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate basic hand tools and light equipment under supervision
- Perform groundskeeping and landscaping duties at public facilities
- Support waste management and recycling operations
- Follow strict safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Participate in emergency response activities during severe weather events
- Complete daily work logs and assist with documentation
Qualifications
- No prior experience required – we provide on-the-job training
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
- Strong work ethic and punctuality
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and work in a team environment
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
