Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for road maintenance, drainage systems, and park infrastructure projects
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, asphalt saws, compactors) with proper safety protocols
- Assist in traffic control setups during construction zones with proper signage and barriers
- Participate in stormwater management initiatives including canal cleaning and debris removal
- Support waste management operations including recycling facility maintenance
- Complete daily equipment inspection reports and preventative maintenance tasks
- Adhere to OSHA standards and City safety regulations at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean record
- Minimum 1 year construction or public works experience preferred
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends during emergencies
