Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, paving, and equipment operation for public infrastructure projects
- Conduct routine maintenance of roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently (e.g., dump trucks, excavators)
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines are met
- Maintain detailed work logs and safety documentation
- Adhere to OSHA and city safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with clean record
- 1+ years of construction or public works experience preferred
- OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and heavy equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and background check
