Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including road maintenance, drainage system repairs, and park upkeep
- Operate heavy equipment safely (excavators, dump trucks, graders) with proper certification
- Assist in emergency response during natural disasters (floods, hurricanes)
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and city regulations
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure and report hazards
- Maintain accurate work logs and documentation of completed tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment operation skills
- Strong commitment to workplace safety protocols
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Willingness to obtain CDL certification within 6 months of hire
