Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor on infrastructure projects including road repairs, drainage systems, and park maintenance
- Operate light machinery (compactors, sweepers, hand tools) following OSHA safety standards
- Assist skilled tradespeople with material handling, site preparation, and cleanup
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Support emergency response during severe weather events
- Maintain accurate project documentation and time logs
- Participate in cross-functional teams for city-wide initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred (training provided)
- Basic mechanical aptitude and tool operation experience
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Strong teamwork ethic and commitment to public service
- Residency within Travis County preferred
