Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure maintenance including road repair, park upkeep, and facility operations
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, compactors, mowers) safely and efficiently
- Assist in construction projects following blueprints and safety protocols
- Conduct routine inspections of public works equipment and facilities
- Manage waste removal and recycling programs citywide
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on stormwater management projects
- Maintain detailed work logs and report maintenance issues promptly
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred (training provided)
- Basic equipment operation experience preferred
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong commitment to workplace safety standards
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends for emergency response
