Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment (backhoes, graders, dump trucks) under supervision
- Perform manual labor including digging, paving, and material handling
- Maintain city infrastructure including roads, drainage systems, and parks
- Follow safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Assist in emergency response during weather events
- Complete daily equipment inspections and maintenance checks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project timelines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic math skills for material calculations
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Reliable transportation to job sites across the city
