Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for infrastructure projects
- Operate light equipment (saws, jackhammers, pressure washers) under supervision
- Maintain construction sites by clearing debris and ensuring safety compliance
- Assist skilled tradespeople with pipe installation, asphalt repair, and sign maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections of public facilities and report maintenance needs
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Participate in emergency response operations during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and materials
- Willingness to obtain required safety certifications (provided)
- Reliable transportation to project sites across Sacramento County
