Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Assist in the repair and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Machinery Operation: Operate light to heavy equipment such as sweepers, rollers, and graders (training provided).
- Street Sweeping: Perform daily street cleaning to ensure compliance with city health and safety codes.
- Seasonal Services: Assist with snow removal and ice control during winter months.
- Pothole Repair: Support crews in filling potholes and patching asphalt to improve road conditions.
- Equipment Care: Perform routine inspections and minor maintenance on tools and machinery.
- Site Cleanup: Maintain a clean and safe work site, removing debris and hazards.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- License: Valid California Class C Driver’s License required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently; good manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Experience: Previous experience in public works, construction, or landscaping is a plus but not required.
- Availability: Must be available for part-time hours, including early mornings and weekends as needed.
- Condition: Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Skills: Basic understanding of safety protocols and traffic control procedures.
