Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Operate light equipment (backhoes, trenchers, compactors) with proper safety protocols
- Construct/maintain sidewalks, roads, and drainage systems
- Assist in emergency storm response and debris removal
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and maintenance checks
- Adhere to OSHA standards and city safety regulations
- Complete accurate daily work logs and progress reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Arizona driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 1 year construction or public works experience
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred (training provided)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather
- Basic math skills for material measurements
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Responsible citizenship with reliable transportation
