Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, paving, and utility maintenance
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders, dump trucks) with precision
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk installation, and stormwater management
- Conduct site inspections and document project progress
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure initiatives
- Maintain equipment and work areas in optimal condition
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Illinois Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- 2+ years experience in construction/public works
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather
- Basic knowledge of blueprints and surveying tools
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Residency within Chicago city limits required
