Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and paving under supervision
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws) after training completion
- Assist in park maintenance, landscaping, and facility upkeep
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Participate in emergency response operations during natural disasters
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California Driver's License (Class C)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in outdoor conditions
- Basic math skills for measurement calculations
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Willingness to obtain required certifications (provided by City)
- Strong work ethic and punctuality
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
