Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for public infrastructure projects
- Operate light equipment (e.g., jackhammers, power saws, trenchers) safely and efficiently
- Assist in asphalt/concrete repair, drainage system maintenance, and vegetation control
- Conduct daily site inspections and report safety hazards or maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines and quality standards
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment maintenance records
- Adhere to OSHA and Cal/OSHA safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in construction preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in public works, construction, or related field
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform strenuous physical work in varying weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
