Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including digging, shoveling, lifting, and operating hand/power tools
- Assist in construction and maintenance of public infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, drainage systems)
- Operate light equipment (e.g., jackhammers, saws, compactors) safely and efficiently
- Maintain work areas according to OSHA safety standards and city protocols
- Participate in snow removal, storm cleanup, and emergency response operations
- Complete daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance tasks
- Collaborate with crew members to ensure timely project completion
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Minnesota Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or public works preferred
