Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair city infrastructure including streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on public facilities
- Respond to emergency repairs during extreme weather events
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety regulations
- Document maintenance activities and prepare detailed reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred
- Minimum 2 years of public works or construction maintenance experience
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Certification in heavy equipment operation or similar preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and emergencies
- Strong problem-solving and physical stamina for fieldwork
- Knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems and safety protocols
- Pass background check and drug screening
